Our Qualifications

In order to meet the needs and demands of the banking sector for professional training and skills development at a higher level adequately, The Institute of Bankers in Malawi is an accredited Institution by the University of Malawi (UNIMA). The current partnership with the University of Malawi assists in achieving the Institute of Bankers’ overall goal to establish itself as a centre of professional excellence in banking and other financial services through the provision of high quality training programs.

The Institute of Bankers will always endeavour to offer programs that are relevant to banks and the financial sector to keep them abreast on changes in the financial world. The Institute of Bankers will also provide its members an umbrella professional body in the country similar to those of the lawyers and the Accountants under the Law Society of Malawi and the Institute of Charted Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) respectively. 

As a professional body Institute of Bankers in Malawi provide its members with networking, education, and information opportunities.  It also runs tailor made training courses to assist member institutions in addressing their skills capacity building needs.
